History
The support group was formed in 1997 by a group of women committed to helping other mums get through and overcome postnatal depression.

We have recently produced Edition 3 of Write from the Heart, the first two editions of which were produced by SHE for PND Inc. These booklets have information about perinatal depression and personal stories of West Australian women recovering from post natal depression.

Who We Are
Most of us are women who have suffered from perinatal depression, perinatal anxiety, or other mental health issues surrounding pregnancy and birth. We are all volunteers, committed to helping others survive perinatal depression.

Some of the volunteers who join us do so because they have a special interest in perinatal mental health.

Indigenous representation and explanation of meaning
Explanation of meaning of our logo by From the Heart WA volunteer and artist Amanda O’Connor.
The hands represent the community and the dots symbolise the people in the community. The dots are all different shapes and sizes as they are all unique in their own way.
The little hands – in the middle the dots symbolise the women who are strong enough and walk their journey – most of the time these women are not alone – but the help comes from the female relatives.
The big hands – in the middle the dots symbolise women who need support, guidance and nurturing to walk their journey. The two lines side by side represent the women and FTHWA walking the journey together.
Who We Are
Most of us are women who have suffered from perinatal depression, perinatal anxiety, or other mental health issues surrounding pregnancy and birth. We are all volunteers, committed to helping others survive perinatal depression.
Some of the volunteers who join us do so because they have a special interest in perinatal mental health.
We work with the support of community groups and women’s and children’s health services, as well as similar community organisations around Australia, such as .

We need a new home
From the Heart WA is on the move!!!
Our not for profit organisation working in the health sector is about to lose it's home in Subiaco as space is to be absorbed for leasor's business. Our current arrangement has been free of rental and overheads, although we are responsible for insurance and are looking for a similar situation.
The organisation has all infrastructure required and 3 part-time employees. We desperately seek an office space of approximately 50sqm and storage for resources in a central Perth location, for up to 3 years.
If you have office space available please contact Tracey Parker on Mob: 0427 615 858 to discuss further.
