What Is Perinatal Mental Health? |

|
The perinatal period is the time during pregnancy (antenatal) and up to 12 months after birth (postnatal).
Perinatal mental health is the state of your emotional well-being during this perinatal period. If you feel emotionally well and content in your life, you are better able to cope with stress. If you suffer from deteriorating mental health, coping with stress becomes more difficult, as does maintaining relationships, developing a relationship with your new baby, and functioning in day-to-day life.
